In Grosseto province there are about 40.000 hectares of territory used as nature reserve.
The biggest park is the regional Park of Maremma which exteds from Principina a Mare ‘till Talamone. Both flora and wildlife are very rich: luxuriant mediterranean vegetation with myrtle, strawberry tree and dwarf palm, and many species of birds as herons, mallards, and, moreover, Maremma horses, wild boar, porcupine and wild cat. Inside the park there are several routes to visit. The park is open all year but with different schedules depending on the season .

Other parks are the WWF oasis of Orbetello Laguna di Ponente which is reachable from the Via Aurelia to Km 148, the WWF Oasis of the Bosco della Patanella at Km 150, the Forest Reserve Protection Duna Feniglia and the WWF Reserve of Lake Burano at Km 131 of the Aurelia from fork to Capalbio.
